Tournament FAQ’s
ProSwingMaster Ltd has asked the Tournament Referee Shaun Ashley (PGA Professional) to prepare a list of FAQ’s based on relevant questions. It is advisable to take a copy of these, along with the Format listings to each match that you are eligible to play in.
Handicaps: The tournament will be held by handicap grouping and be broken into 4 categories. They will be 0-6, 7-13, 14-21, 22-28.
- Format and handicap difference: The tournament qualifying rounds will be held on a knock out match play basis with full handicap strokes being received. The Grand Final, where 64 finalists will play one round on the same day at the Marbella Golf and Country Club, Spain where the individual category winners will be decided. The format for the final is stroke play.

1. ELIGIBILITY Q: Is there an age limit? A: Yes. Players must be 10 or over on 1st June 2010 in order to participate.
Q: Do I have to have an official Handicap? A: Yes. Only a valid current federation handicap is acceptable for this Tournament.
Q: Is there a fee to enter the competition? A: Yes. The entrance fee is £95+VAT. This entrance fee covers all Green Fee’s as long as you remain in the competition. The Tournament Sponsors ProSwingMaster Ltd will cover all travel costs for the Final remaining 64 entrants inc; Return air Flights from the UK, Hotel Accommodation for 3days, 2 nights in Andalucía, and it includes the Grand Final event at the Marbella Golf & Country Club. Dinner & presentation with celebrity guests and a charity raffle.
Regional Finals
A course for each region will be decided by the tournament referee and be displayed on the website. Extra courses will be on standby if required. The top 8 players with the highest amount of match play points from each region (2 from each handicap group) will progress to the UK Finals. The 32 best runner up scores from all regions will also qualify for the UK Final.
Referee
A tournament referee will be available at all venues.
UK Finals
128 players will contest for the final 64 spaces available on a straight knockout match play format keeping within the handicap groups. The UK Final course will be displayed on the website.
The Grand Final
To be hosted by the Marbella Golf & Country Club. The 64 finalists will compete in a stroke play format remaining in their handicap grouping.
There will be runners up and winners from each handicap group.
The best score of the day, taking into account the full handicap allowance, will determine the overall winner of the Marbella Trophy 2010.
Other FAQ’s
Q: How do I know that my flights, hotel will be booked? A. As part of the agreed organisation, Tournament Sponsors ProSwingMaster Ltd has the procedure in place for this. You will be notified via telephone if you are amongst the Final 64 entrants upon which time you must provide all the relevant documentation in compliance with the air carriers and any authorities necessary to reserve your place in the final.
Q: Is there any costs to the final? A. No. The flights, Hotel stay and the final round of Golf and buggy is paid for by the Tournament sponsors ProSwingMaster Ltd.
Q: What’s not included? A. Travel Insurance, spending money, transfers from your home to the airport. It is solely the entrant’s responsibility to make any necessary travel insurance arrangements. The tournament sponsors ProSwingMaster Ltd or Marbella Golf & Country Club bears no responsibility whatsoever for any entrants Travel Insurance.
Q: Must matches be played off Medal Tees? A: Whenever possible matches should be played off Medal Tees
Entrants can register by any of the following methods; A. By Telephone (0800 334 5796) B. By E-mail C. By Fax. (see contact details). D. By mail.
Deadlines: Entries for the competition close on *May 23th 2010. Entries received after this date will not be accepted.
Withdrawals: If a player withdraws prior to the appropriate closing date the entrance fee will refunded less a £25 administration charge. Alternatively the entrant may choose to roll all of the entrance fee over to the 2011 Tournament. If a player withdraws after the appropriate closing date no refund will be given and any outstanding match will be awarded to the opponent. If a player is absent on the tee no refund will be given and the match will be awarded to the opponent.
Qualifying Losers. All first round losers will receive 25% off the entrance fee for the Marbella Trophy 2011.
Inscriptions: Inscriptions will be confirmed once the entry fee has been received by the tournament organiser. Inscriptions can be paid by bank transfer, or valid Visa, MasterCard Credit/Debit cards. All transfers costs must be borne by the competitor
Prizes:
Regional Winners & Runners up Trophies. UK finalists will receive winners and runner up Trophies Winners and runners up Trophies in the final. The final 64 winners will each be invited to play the Grand Final at the Marbella Golf & Country Club, Marbella Spain. Travel expenses for the grand final are paid for by the Tournament Sponsor ProSwingMaster Ltd in accordance with R&A rules.
The final 0-6 winner (the player with the lowest scratch total at the grand final) will receive a sponsorship for the period of One season on the EPD Professional Tour for the 2011 season and will be required to wear the sponsors logo on clothing, bag etc for the full period. The winner will also receive a full equipment sponsorship during the same period to include clubs, clothing, balls, golf bag etc. The grand final winner will be required to turn professional in order to receive the sposorship. All prizes conform to R&A rules for Amateur status. No cash alternatives are available to any prizes.
Caddies: Caddies and or forecaddies as described in the rules or golf will be permitted.
Motorised buggies: Golf carts are permitted to be used by any competitor in any qualifying round at the competitors own expense. Golf carts will be provided free of charge for all 64 competitors at the grand final on a shared basis two competitors per buggy.
GPS: Global positioning systems and other similar range finding equipment will be permitted during all rounds of the competition.
Results: Both score cards must be signed by each player for verification. It is the responsibility of the winning competitor in each round to communicate the result to the tournament organiser by present on the day.
Disputes: Any disputes will be decided by the tournament referee who can be contacted by e-mail at

Insurance: The tournament organisers and marketers accept no responsibility for any injury, act of God, or any other claim. All entrants are solely responsible to make sure they have adequate insurance to play the event.
Dress Code All competitors must adhere to dress codes when representing themselves on the Golf course and clug house. Strictly no denim, sweat pants, jogging outfits etc. A full dress code can be obtained from the Golf Course on which your match will be played.
Travel Policy: All travel and hotel booking procedures for the Grand Final must be booked by the tournament Sponsor. All costs to this are paid for by the Tournament Sponsors ProSwingMaster Ltd on behalf of the entrant. Travel Insurance is not included and therefore is the sole responsibility of the entrant.
General policy: The tournament organiser reserves the right to change and or amend the format, conditions and schedule of play and reject application for entry at any time.
